Familiarizing with Mission Planner and Hardware Integration

Integrating and testing new flight control platforms

As the plane draws closer to completion, we shifted our focus toward training team members on how to effectively use Mission Planner with the aircraft. This training ensured that everyone on the team could competently plan and monitor flights, making them more confident and efficient in flight operations. In addition to training, we concentrated on fine-tuning flight controller parameters to optimize performance, including the integration of flaperon compatibility for more precise control. We also delved into the nuances of autonomous plane tuning, working to refine the control algorithms to improve flight stability and responsiveness in various conditions.

To further enhance overall flight performance, we integrated and rigorously tested new hardware components, including the upgraded Orange Cube Pixhawk flight controller and a new, more accurate GPS system. These hardware upgrades were carefully selected to boost the aircraft's reliability, accuracy, and adaptability in flight. Through a series of integration tests, we ensured that these new components worked seamlessly with the existing system, significantly improving both navigation and control capabilities.

Key Achievements:

  • Trained team members on Mission Planner for flight planning and monitoring.
  • Adjusted flight controller parameters and added flaperon compatibility.
  • Integrated and tested new hardware, including the Orange Cube Pixhawk and new GPS.
